Meizu M6 with 5.2-inch display, 3GB RAM, Nougat announced
Meizu has announced its latest budget smartphone, the M6 in China. Interestingly, the specs remain same has its predecessor M5, but the device gets a major design change. It appears to be made of metal, but the body is polycarbonate.
To achieve the metal-like finish, Meizu used a process called Non-Conducive Vacuum Metallization (NCVM) technology, and the pseudo-antenna lines are handcrafted to give the M6 a premium look. The fingerprint sensor is located at the front and is embedded into the home button.
In terms of specifications, the Meizu M6 has 5.2-inch HD display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor. It comes in two variants: 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage.
For photography, it gets 13MP rear camera with 4-color RGBW flash, PDAF and f/2.2 aperture, while the front camera has been improved. It now has 8MP f/2.0 sensor, instead of M5's 5MP sensor. Connectivity options include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack and GPS. It runs Android Nougat based Flyme 6, and comes with Meizu's One Mind Ai Engine. A 3070mAh battery keeps the lights on.
The pricing also remains unchanged and is same as Meizu M5. The 2GB/16GB model of Meizu M6 is priced at CNY 699 ($106 | Rs. 7,000) and the 3GB/32GB models costs CNY 899 ($137 | Rs. 9,000). It will be available in China starting September 25 in Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Matte Black, and Electric Light Blue.
