After several leaks and rumors in the past couple of months, Samsung has officially unveiled the 2016 edition of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. Both phones are listed on Samsung China website without price details.
The Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 2016 edition come with 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash, which promises to deliver quality selfies under low-light conditions.
The Galaxy J5 2016 is smaller of the duo, sporting a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is armed with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor w/ Adreno 306 GPU, with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. It gets 13-megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash, 4G LTE & NFC support and is fueled by 3100mAh battery.
The Galaxy J7 2016 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt expandable storage. It also comes with 13-megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash, 4G LTE & NFC support, but is backed by a bigger 3300mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 2016 is expected to go on sale in China soon in Gold, Silver and Pink hues. Samsung has not revealed when the phone will make their way outside China, but with the Galaxy J seires being a instant hit in India, we can expect it to launch in the country soon.

Samsung's upcoming 2016 edition of Galaxy J5 and J7 has been in the news for quite some time now. Both the handset have already appeared on TENAA and GFXBenchmark, to have their specs outed. Now ahead of official announcement, press renders of both the handsets have hit interwebs.

The leaked images shows the China Mobile version of Galaxy J5 (2016) and J7 (2016) with a metal unibody and a design similar to that of the premium Galaxy A 2016 lineup.
As per TENAA, Galaxy J5 and J7 2016 will run Android 5.1 Lollipop, support expandable storage and 4G LTE connectivity. Both could also come with fingerprint sensor, which will be built into the home button.
The Galaxy J5 2016 will have a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP/5MP rear and front camera. The Galaxy J7 2016 is expected to comes with 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz octa-ocre processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP rear and 5MP front facing camera.

Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the 2016 edition of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. Both mid-range handsets have been certified by Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA, and we can expect an official announcement anytime soon.
The Galaxy J5 and J7 2016 will have similar design, run Android 5.1 Lollipop, support expandable storage and 4G LTE connectivity. We can also expect the devices to have fingerprint sensor built into the home button, since Samsung previously said that their mid-range phone will have fingerprint reader.
The Galaxy J5 2016 seen above, sports a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and is equipped with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash, laser auto-focus, and 5MP front snapper w/ LED flash as well. The phone will be available in White, Gold, and Pink Gold colors.
TENAA has listed two variants of Galaxy J7 2016 - SM-J7108 (global) powered by 1.6GHz octa-core processor (possibly the Exynos 7870) and and SM-J7109 (China Telecom variant) powered by unknown octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and other four cores clocked at 1.2GHz.
Other specs of both Galaxy J7 2016 will be the same- 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash and laser auto-focus and 5MP front camera w/ LED flash. The SMJ1708 will come in Gold and White color, while the SM-J1709 comes in Black and Gold color.
