Motorola Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 617 SoC gets official


Motorola has officially announced the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in India. Just like previous Moto G models, Moto G4 offers pure Android experience and decent specs at an affordable price. The Moto G4/G4 Plus has 7.9mm body featuring metal accents, textured back and water repellent nano-coated body, but misses out on water resistant capabilities of its predecessor.

The Moto G4 comes with 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor backed by Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be further increased via microSD card (up to 128GB). It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Moto Pure on top, which comes with features like swipe to dismiss, swipe to unlock and pick up to stop ringing.

For photography, it sports 13-megapixel rear with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording camera. For clicking selfies you get 5-megapixel front snapper with with OmniVision OV5693 sensor and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM, 4G LTE w/ VoLTE, 3G, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery TurboPower charging support that offers six hours of battery life after a 15 minute charge.

The Moto G4 Plus comes with a fingerprint scanner and 16-megapixel main camera with OmniVision sensor, laser auto-focus, PDAF, 1.3um w/ f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and 1080p video recording. It comes in two storage variants– 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage. The rest of specs are same as Moto G4.

The Moto G4 Plus 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM variant is priced at Rs. 13,499, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant costs Rs. 14,999. It comes in Black and White colors, and will be exclusively available on Amazon India starting tonight. The Moto G4 will go on sale next month, but there is no details on pricing yet.
