Kurio Smart Windows 2-in-1 tablet, Kurio Extreme 2 Android tablet announced
KD Interactive, the manufacturer of Kurio tablets,
produces interactive and educational technology platforms for children
ages 2-14. The company announced two new Kurio Kids devices- Windows based 2-in-1tablet Kurio Smart and Kurio Xtreme 2 Android tablet.
Kurio Smart Windows 2-in-1 tablet is perfect for reading e-books, studying and browsing the web. It comes Microsoft's Family Safety system so that parents can determine which websites, apps and games are suitable for their kids and can monitor's kid's usage and also set time limits. It comes with a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office, 1 terabyte of One Drive cloud storage and more that 40 pre-loaded apps and games worth $200.
Kurio Smart Windows 2-in-1 tablet has a 8-inch touchscreen IPS display and detachable magnetic keyboard which doubles up as hard carry case when closed. It is equipped with quad-core Intel Bay Trail-T Z3735G processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, further expandable via microSD up to 32GB. There is a 2-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel VGA front camera. The tablet also has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro HDMI port and micro USB port. It is fueled by 4900mAh battery and runs Windows 8.1 which can be upgraded to Windows 10.
The Kurio Xtreme 2 Android tablet includes a protective bumper that is reinforced in the corners to protect it against drops or spills. It ships with a shatter-proof screen protector for increased durability. It also has a built-in kickstand to make it ideal for media consumption.
Content is readily available for streaming from Spotify, YouTube Kids, Toon Goggles and Netflix. In addition the tablet comes preloaded with more than 60 apps worth $300. Parents can set time limit, manage app and determine which websites are suitable for kids. There's a built-in Kurio Guard filtering system that automatically blocks inappropriate content.
Kurio Xtreme 2 comes with 7-inch display, quad-core MediaTek MTK8127 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 2.1-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel VGA front cameras, 2820mAh battery, micro USB port and micro-HDMI port, which allows you to connect the tablet to a TV. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Kurio Smart comes in Blue/White or Pink/White colors and carries the price tag of $199.99 and the Kurio Xtreme 2 comes in Blue or Pink color and costs $129.99. Both are now available for purchase from Toys "R" Us.
