HMD Global has already confirmed that Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8, which ship with Android Nougat will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. Now the brand has again reaffirmed that these devices will get Android Oreo. A time frame is still not know, but we can expect the roll out to happen before the year ends.
The latest information comes from HMD Global's Chief Product offices, Juho Sarvikas who took to Twitter to make the announcement. “All of our smartphones will upgrade to Oreo, Nokia 3 included. No comments yet on timing so that I don’t get into trouble,” read his Tweet.
This is no surprise, given that the Nokia phones are new in the market and runs near Stock Android. The company has also been rolling out timely monthly security updates as well, the same day Google releases them.

The Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are already available for purchase in India, with the Nokia 8 yet to be released. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are priced at Rs. 9,499 and Rs. 12,899 and available through offline store. The Nokia 6 is exclusively available online on Amazon India for Rs. 14,999.
Sony just released it latest smartphones, the Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus. While the Xperia XA1 Plus runs Android Nougat, the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact are the first phone to ship with Google's latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
That said, Sony also shared good news for older Xperia smartphone users. In addition to the newly released Xperia XA1 Plus, Sony has announced that Android 8.0 Oreo will be available for Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra. The Xperia Touch projector will also receive Android 8.0 Oreo as well. We can expect more devices to be added in the second batch of list.
Sony notes that "Software rollouts are a phased process – timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator".

Bootloops is one of the common problems faced by Android users, where the smartphone reboots, and keeps on rebooting over and over. Now in an attempt to minimize the damage of bootloops, Google has implemented a new feature in Android 8.0 Oreo called Rescue Party.
The Rescue Party feature does not require any hardware support and is enabled by default on Android Oreo. It comes into play when it notices core system components stuck in bootloops. Rescue Party then then takes different actions to recover the device, and as a last resort, it reboots the device into recover mode, and prompts user to perform a factory reset.
Rescue Party receives information about boot and crash events and starts if:
- The system_server restarts more than 5 times in 5 minutes
- A persistent system app crashes more than 5 times in 30 seconds
When your Android device is in any one of these situations, Rescue Party escalates to the next level, processes the task associated with that level, and lets the device proceed to see if it recovers. Each level is progressively more aggressive in what it clears or resets. The final level prompts the user to factory reset the device.
The Rescue Party feature will come in handy when things go South during updating software or custom ROM installation.

Google just released its latest Android operating system called Android 8.0 Oreo, and now HTC has confirmed some of its smartphones that will get Android's latest cookie.
The Taiwanese smartphone maker took to Twitter to confirm that its flagship devices, the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and last year's HTC 10 will get Android O. The tweet also confirms a global roll out. As usual a time frame was not mentioned, but we can expect the roll out to start in December or January.
