Honor 5C launched in India for Rs. 10,999


Huawei's sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 5C in India for Rs. 10,999. The phone will be available exclusively from Honor store and Flipkart through flash sale starting from June 30. Registrations for the flash sale will open soon. It is backed by a 15-month warranty, and screen replacement warranty for the first month. 

The Honor 5C is targeted at the budget-market segment, and will compete with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3, YU's Yunicorn, LeEco's Le 2, Meizu's m3 Note and Lenovo's Vibe K4 Note. Much like it's competitors, the Honor 5C comes with a metal unibody design, Dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support and has a fingerprint scanner located at the back.

The Honor 5C comes with 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, octa-core Kirin 650 SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. For photography there's 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. It is backed by 3000mAh battery and runs EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Honor 5C with Kirin 650 SoC, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera announced


Huawei sub-brand Honor, has officially announced the Honor 5C in China, that will succeed the Honor 4C. The phone sports a premium metal unibody design and has a fingerprint scanner at the back, that can unclock the phone in 0.5 seconds.

The Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels IPS LCD display and is powered by homegrown octa-core Kirin 650 processor backed by Mali-T830 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 UI on top.

The camera department gets a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash, f/2.0 aperture. For selfies and to make video calls, its gets an 8-megapixel front camera. Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE (VoLTE included), 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery.

The Honor 5C comes in 3G and 4G varaints, which are priced at CNY 899 ($140 | Rs. 9,000) and CNY 999 (Rs. 10,000) accordingly. It is now up for pre-order in China and will be available from May 5.

Huawei Honor 5C with 5.2-inch display, fingerprint sensor gets certified by TENAA


Huawei last week launched the P9 and P9 Plus premium flagship devices, but the strength of the company lies in the mid-range market segment. Now, Huawei's sub-brand Honor is gearing up to launch the successor of the budget Honor 4C smartphone, the Honor 5C, as the phone has been certified by China's TENAA revealing its design and specifications.

The Honor 5C will have a premium metal unibody design thatclosely resembles Honor 5X, and has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

According to TENAA, the Honor 5C will have a 5.2-inch 1080p display and powered by 2GHz octa-core processor. The chipset is unspecified but it could be MediaTek Helio X10, Snapdragon 625 or Kirin 650 SoC. The phone will pack 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt expandable storage (via microSD card slot), 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash, 8MP front camera, and fueled by a 2900mAh battery.

The phone measures 147.1 x 73.8 x 8.3mm and weighs 156g. Honor is also expected to release a slightly upgraded model of Honor 5C with 3GB RAM/32GB storage.

As per reports, the Honor 5C launch is scheduled for April 28.
