LeTV to make India debut on January 20


China-based internet conglomerate LeTV has sent out invites for an event in India on January 20, where it will officially announced its entry in the country's smartphone market. The company has already hosted fan events in the country, to create enough hype for their products before its arrival.

Even though the invite doesn't say much about the upcoming devices, LeTV has already confirmed that it will launch two smartphones in the country. Le Max is already confirmed for the launch, while the other is likely to be the Le 1s. The company is also expected to launch lifestyle products including Super Cycle, Le 3D Helmet and LeMe Headphones.

To recap, the Le Max was launched back in April last year in China, while the Le 1s was launched in October priced at CNY 1,099 (Rs. 11,000). The specifications are listed below.

LeTV showcases Super Cycle, Le 3D Helmt, LeMe headphones in India


Chinese Internet company LeTV marked its arriveal in the Indian market by announcing a range of smart devices including Super Cycle, Le 3D Helmet VR headset and LeMe Bluetooth headphones. The company aims to cash in on the growing demand for smart gadgets in the country.

The LeTV Super Cycle in an internet-enabled bicycle that comes with several integrated sensor, to keep track of all the activity and aspect of your cycle. It collects health-related data, and pre-equipped with keyless and chainless anti-theft technology. There is also a fingerprint sensor as well. It also has built-in PTT walkie-talkie, Bluetooth and 3G communication module. The cycle is equipped with a 8400mAh battery with voltage stabilizer for automatic power generation.

The Le 3D Helmet comes with a 5.5-inch 2K LCD manufactured by Sharp with a 70° field of view. It comes with a USB Type C port to connect with your smartphone for MHL signal input for viewing videos and playing games. It supports 1080p videos at 60fps

Lastly, the LeMe Bluetooth Headphone offers a frequency response of up to 20GHz. The 195mAh battery charges in about two hours and promises 100 hours of music playback and 26.5 days of standby time. The Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity offers a range of 10 meters.

LeTV will provide more details on the pricing of the said products and other launches on January 20 event. There will be also two smartphone launches on the same day. The company is reportedly setting up an online portal to sell its products in India, similar to LeMall.com in China.

LeTV Le Max Pro with Snapdragon 820 SoC to cost around $535


Qualcomm at CES 2016 confirmed that the LeTV Le Max Pro will be the world's first smartphone running the powerful Snapdragon 820 processor. However, the Le Max Pro was not officially launched, but Qualcomm did say that it be on sale in H1 2016.

Now, Chinese website Mobile Dad has got hold of a product page screenshot that shows the cost of Le Max Pro. According to the leak the Le Max Pro will be priced at CNY 3,500 ($535 | Rs. 35,000). We can expect it to be priced higher when it goes global. LeTV is yet to officially confirm the pricing.

Apart from the Snapdragon 820, the Le Max Pro will be the first to get 802.11ad multi-gigabit WiFi support and X12 LTE with Cat. 12/13 download speeds of up to 600Mbps and Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint technology, that is said to be more secured than capacitive scanners. It will also support Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

The other features include a 6.33-inch Quad HD display, 4G RAM, 64GB storage, 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 rear camera, 4 Ultrapixel front camera, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3400mAh battery.

Letv Le Max Pro is the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 820


At CES 2016, Qualcomm CEO Steven Mollenkopf took the stage to show off the the first smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 820, the Letv Le Max Pro.

The Snapdragon 820 can help boost wireless connectivity speed and beef up processing power, or both. It has 802.11ad multi-gigabit WiFi and X12 LTE with Cat. 12/13 download speeds of up to 600Mbps. 

In addition to being the first Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone, the Letv Le Max Pro is also the first to comes with Qualcomm Sense ID fingerprint technology, to offer  more secure, reliable alternative to capacitive-based fingerprint sensors. It also features Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 for up to 75% faster charging

The other features are said to be similar to Letv Le Max, that was introduced last year, including a 6.33-inch Quad HD display, 4G RAM, 64GB storage, 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 rear camera, 4 Ultrapixel front camera, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3400mAh battery.

The Letv Le Max Pro is expected to launch later this year. There is no word on the pricing.

LeTV Le Max with 6.33-inch QHD display, SD-810, 4GB RAM lands in India mid-January 2016


LeTV, is the latest Chinese smartphone maker to set foot in the Indian market. The brand today at its fan meetup in Bengaluru confirmed that it will launch the Le Max smartphone in the country sometime in mid-January 2016.

Before that, the Letv Le Max will be showcased during the January 5 event, which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi. The brand will also launch some other smartphones, which could be the Le 1 and Le 1 Pro, along with the Le Max at the event.

Spec-wise LeTV Le Max sports a 6.33-inch Quad HD display and is equipped with octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with Adreno 430 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB / 128GB internal storage, fingerprint sensor, 21MP rear camera and 4MP Ultra-pixel front camera. The device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based on EUI, supports 4G LTE and is fuled by 3400mAh battery.

LeTV Le 1s with 5.5-inch 1080p display, Helio X10 SoC, fingerprint sensor announced


Leading private Chinese entertainment company LeTV announced the Le 1s, successor to the Le 1 smartphones that was launched in April, earlier this year. The brand is touting the Le 1s as the world’s first smartphone to boast a mirror fingerprint sensor, but the company did not detail about its functionality.

The LeTV Le 1s features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) incell display with 500nits brightness. Inside there is a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB RAM. Inbuilt storage is 32GB. It runs Android Lollipop based EUI 5.5.

For imaging, there a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, ISOCELL sensor and PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus). On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with Samsung S5K5E2 sensor, 85-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. 


The Le 1s has SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type C connectivity. It has an inbuilt IR Blaster, that enables the phone to function as a universal remote. 

It is fueled by 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The company says that charging the phone using 24W charger for 5 minutes will let you make a voice call for 3.5 hours. The device flaunts a premium all-metal unibody design, measures 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.5 mm and weighs around 169 grams.

The LeTV Le 1s is priced at CNY 1099 ($172 | Rs. 11,000). The company said the bill of materials (BOM) adds up to CNY 1310, so it is selling the smartphone at a loss. 300,000 units of LeTV Le 1s will go on sale through the official lemall mall & JD.com in China on November 3.

LeTV Unveils LeTV One, One Pro, LeTV Max ‘bezel-less’ flagships


Leading private Chinese entertainment company LeTV announced three new smartphones called LeTV One, LeTV One Pro and LeTV Max.

The LeTV One, One Pro and Max are the first 'bezel-less' phones. The phones are the first ones to come with USB Type-C Port. The company is also releasing full bill of materials allowing customers to see how much it costs to make a phone. The three devices run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with EUI 5.0 UI on top.

The LeTV One is a dual-SIM smartphone features  5.5-inch (1920x1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protections and is powered by 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor paired with 3GB RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and is backed by 3000mAh battery. Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone flash, OIS and 5-megapixel front facing camera. The device is made out of plastic and glass and comes in White color only.

The LeTV One Pro sports 5.5-inch QuadHD display with 2560x1440 pixels screen resolution. It is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage. Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, OISm dual-tone flash and 4-megapixel ultrapixel front facing camera. It is backed by 3000mAh battery. The handset is made out of metal and glass materials and will be available in Gold or Silver color options.

Lastly, the LeTV One Max is a dual-SIM device and offers a push-to-activate fingerprint scanner. It sports 6.33-inch QuadHD display with 2560x1440 pixels screen resolution. The phablet is powered by Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage. Camera features include 21-megapixel rear facing camera with Sony's IMX230 sensor, OIS and dual-LED, dual tone flash. On the front it sports a 4-megapixel Ultrapixel camera. It will be available in Gold and Silver color options. There are no details on battery.

The LeTV One Pro and Max comes with 'LeHi-fi' audio processor that delivers enhanced sound quality.

The LeTV One is priced at 1499 yuan ($240 | Rs. 15,000), 1599 yuan ($260 | Rs. 16,000) and 1799 yuan ($290 | Rs. 18,000) for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants respectively. The LeTV One Pro is priced at 2499 yuan ($400 | Rs. 25,000) and 2,699 yuan ($435 | Rs. 27,000) for 32GB and 64GB variants respectively. The price of LeTV Max will be decided from people's vote said the company.


The smartphones will be available via flash sale from http://shop.letv.com/ later this month. The company is also planning to bring the smartphone to Indian shores later this year.
