Motorola has unveiled the successor to the Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch at the sidelines of IFA 2015 in Berlin. The new Moto 360 sports a premium look and comes in two sizes for men and a special variant for women. In addition, there is Moto 360 Sport Edition aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
For men, it comes in two case sizes, a 46mm design and 42mm design. For women, it comes in only 42mm size. The 42mm case for men comes in silver case color and chamfer colored bezel. The 46mm comes in black and gold colored cased and
micro knurl bezel treatment. The women's Moto 360 comes in Silver, gold and rose colors with bezel shining in peak and micro etch flavors. Also available are the metal and leather 'quick release' bands for both sizes.
Motorola claims that the new Moto 360 has the largest screen-to-case ration of any smartwatch available today. It is built out of aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartwatches are also IP67 certified making them dust and water resistant. In water in can withstand immersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
The new Moto 360 comes in two screen sizes- 1.37-inch (42mm) (360 x 235 pixels) and 1.56-inch (46mm) (360 x 330 pixels) and is powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 512MB RAM. On-board storage is 4GB. It runs Google's Android Wear.
The 42mm variant of Moto 360 packs 300mAh battery which can last up to 1.5 days of mixed usage with Ambient off. The 46mm model comes with 400mAh battery which can last up to 2 days with ambient off, and a full days with ambient kept on. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11 b/g connectivity and comes loaded with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor and gyroscope. It also has an optical heart rate monitor. Other features include dual-microphones and Wireless charging.
The new Moto 360 comes with several new interesting features, one of them, Live Dial, which lets you get information at a glance and also let you use shortcuts to quickly access the most frequently used apps. "Set up
the smaller dials on your watch to display the battery level, current
weather, or your latest fitness stats," says Motorola.
Coming to the Moto 360 Sport Edition, it comes with an AnyLight Hybrid display that offers better visibility under the sunlight. The smartwatch offers a waterproof design and comes with a heart rate sensor and GPS to track your speed, distance and pace. It has strong silicon bands with UV coating that can last longer when in contact with moisture, dust and water.
The new Moto 360 is up for pre-order in the U.S via Motorola.com, Google Play and Best Buy. Prices start a $299.99 (Rs. 19,800) and go all the way up to $429.99 (Rs. 28,000) depending on the variant. Pricing and availability details of Moto 360 Sport Edition will be announced soon.
After numerous leaks and rumors, we finally get a launch date for the new Moto 360. Lenovo has sent out invites for an event scheduled on September 8 in Shanghai, China, where it will launch the new Moto 360.
The invite teases the new Moto 360 and a bold text on top of it read 'It's time'. We can also see the physical crown button placed at the 2 o' clock position and the external lugs.
Over the past few weeks reports and rumors indicates that the new Moto 360 will have two different size models, Moto 360 L and Moto 360 S. The Moto 360 L will sport 1.55-inch display, 46mm dial size, 22mm strap and pack 270mAh battery. The Moto 360 S will have 1.37-inch display, dial size of 38mm, strap size of 22mm and 375mAh battery. Both will come in different case colors and bands and will have a flat tire design.
There is also another version of the Moto 360, the Moto 360 sport. It will feature Hybrid display optimized for outdoor use, 3ATM Water Resistance, GPS and Barometer. It will be available black, White and orange rubber bands. We can also expect this smartwatch to be announced at the event.
Until now, leaks and rumors suggested that Motorola's next gen Moto 360 smartwatch will come in two sizes. Now a fresh set of leaks courtesy of @upleaks suggests that there will be a Sport variant of Moto 360 as well. Also leaked were some additional renders of Moto 360.
As per the leak, Moto 360 Sport will also work as an fitness tracker and let users know about various physical activities. It comes with a Hybrid Display optimized for outdoor use, 3ATM water resistance, GPS and Barometer. The Sport edition of Moto 360 will come in Black, White and Orange rubber bands. The crown button is seen at the same 2 o' clock position but there are no external lugs. The band merges with the smartwatch's body.
The photos of Moto 360 next gen shows the watch in various color options such as black, silver and gold with metal and leather straps. We can also see a large model and small model of the next gen Moto 360. The smaller version is said to sport a 1.37-inch display, 42mm body,
and 20mm band, while the larger version would feature a 1.55-inch
display, 46mm body and 22mm band.
According to @upleaks, the Moto 360 2nd gen will be announced in September while the Sport version will be outed in November.

In related, Lenovo's Vice President Smartphone Business Lead of Asia Pacific, Dhillon Ye, was recently spotted wearing the new Moto 360 during a launch event of Lenovo Vibe Shot in Indonesia.
How do we know Dhillon Ye is wearing the next gen Moto 360 watch. Simple, the crown button on his Moto 360 is positioned at 2 o' clock, which also can be seen in the renders. He also admitted wearing the next gen Moto 360. When asked about the launch date of new Moto 360, Ye claims that the company plans to launch it before the end of the year.

Last week Mototola accidentally leaked
a video (later taken down) that demos the next gen Moto 360 smartwatch
on its twitter handle. The leak gave us a glimpse of how the watch would
look like.
Now the new Moto 360 has been spotted in a couple of
images that were taken in Chicago, where Mototola's headquarters is
located. The photos were posted on Reddit and Google Plus. The Reddit
user wrote "This photo was taken right behind the Merchandise Mart in Chicago
today. She was walking down the street when I noticed the lugs and
grabbed a pic. Too difficult to check for the flat tire."
In
the photos the next gen Moto 360 appears to be slimmer that the
original Moto 360. We can also see the leather bands, the 'flat tire'
circular design, Gold dial and the Crown button position placed at the 2
o, clock position. The photos show two different models on the new 360,
an all-back one with leather strap and the other has a Rose Gold casing
and Cognac band.
Two models of Moto 360 named 360S and 360L were listed on
Brazil's Anatel last week. S and L stands for small and large and packs
270mAh and 375mAh battery accordingly. It runs Android wear andd
supports Bluetooth LE and WiFi connectivity.

Details of the the next gen Moto 360 smartwatch has surfaced online. Motorola Mobility accidentally leaked a video that demos the next-gen Moto 360 smartwatch via its official twitter account (later taken down). The leak gives us a brief glimpse of what Moto 360 would look like. In addition two models of the Moto 360 was listed over at Anatel, Brazil's federal telecom regulator which is equivalent of FCC in the U.S.
In the leaked video Motorola's smartwatch is seen taking 'OK Google' voice commands to perform various searches. The smartwatch retain its flat tire circular design and the crown button is placed at the 2 o, clock position. The way that the band connects to the watch, the lugs, is different from what we see in the existing Moto 360 model (band is attached under the circular body).
Moving on to listing on Brazil's Anatel, there will be two models of Moto 360 named 360s and 360L. The 360S has a 270mAh battery while the 360L model packs a 375mAh battery. By comparison the existing Moto 360 features a 320mAh battery. The listing indicated that Motorola will release the Moto 360 in both large and small variants. Also present on both smartwatch are Bluetooth LE and WiFi and it will be running Android Wear.
That's all the information known about the new Moto 360. Details about its specs are not yet known.
