Logitech's first Logi products are iPad cases that are drop-proof

Earlier this month Logitech announced the new Logi brand and now the company has introduced its first line of products under the Logi Label. The Logi BLOK family is the first product group under Logi label that includes cases for iPad. 

The Logi BLOK is comprised of the Logi BLOK Protective Shell, Logi BLOK Protective case and Logi BLOK protective keyboard case. They are durable and sport rugged designs that are meant to withstand drop from up to six feet high onto surfaces as hard as concrete. The absorbent polymer structure of the cases supports and flexes with the iPad upon impact.

The Logi BLOK Protective Shell provides perimeter protection and is designed for iPad Air 2 and all models of iPad mini. It comes with a screen protector to keep the display safe from scratches. It comes in black, red/violet and teal/blue colors and retails for $39.99.

The Logi BLOK Protective case includes a cover/stand and lets the iPad be position in any angle for tasks like typing or watching videos. The built-in any-angle stand can be tilted up to 50-degree range when closed and also offers drop protection. It comes in black, red/violet and teal/blue and will retail for $69.99.

Lastly, the Logi BLOK Protective Keyboard Case has a detachable Bluetooth keyboard that doubles as a screen cover and any-angle stand. It can be used as a shell when reading, with a stand for hands-free viewing and with keyboard for typing. It comes in black and teal/blue color and will retail for $129.99.

All three protective cases will the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and select countries in Europe starting from August 2015.

Apple iOS 9, OS X El Capitan public betas released

Apple has released beta version of its iOS 9 mobile OS and OS X El Capitan for the general public using eligible iOS devices. Users need to join the Apple Beta Software Program with their Apple ID to download the software. Once you have registered for the public beta, a built-in feedback assistant app appears on the Home screen of your iOS device and Dock on your Mac.

The iOS 9 beta is more polished than the version that was available for developers last month. The new update brings a number of new features and improvements like intelligent search with Siri, Split-screen multitasking on iPad, improved built in Map, News & Note apps, improved Apple Pay, Battery optimization and enhanced security features.

Some of the changes in OS X El Capitan include visual enhancements, system level font which is now San Francisco, Split-view feature, Notes app, improved Safari browser & photos app and more.

iOS 8.1.2 Update released by Apple to fix ringtone issues

Apple released iOS 8.1.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users running iOS 8. The release “addresses a problem where ringtones purchases through the iTunes Store may have been removed from your device.”

In addition, Apple set up a recovery page for the lost ringtones,  itunes.com/restore-tones. Those who faced the issue can visit the link to bring back lost ringtones to the device.

The update package is 28.2MB. It will take a few minutes to update your Apple devices.

You can check the update for your device by going to Settings> General > Software Update and then your phone will search for the update. If the method via OTA does not work, just go to iTunes , click on your device tab and "Check for Update" or "Update" .

Apple's iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 Now Up for Pre-Orders in India

E-commerce websites Flipkart and Infibeam have started taking pre-orders for Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 in India.  According to sources, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will  be shipped by the end of this month.

iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 come with iOS 8.1 including Continuity features across iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite which enable Apple products to work together. They are available in silver, space grey and in Gold colour variant. both tablets are equipped with Touch ID fingerprint sensor and feature 1.2- megapixel Facetime HD cameras, LTE dual-band Wi-Fi and bluetooth 4.0.

Individually, the Apple iPad Air 2 features a 9.7 inch Retina display. It is powered by a 64-bit Apple A8x chip with and M8 Motion core processor. Camera features include 8-megapixel iSight camera. On the other hand, the iPad mini 3 features 7.9-inch Retina display and is powered by a 64-bit A7 chip, with M7 motion co-processor and 5-megapixel iSight camera.

The Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be available in 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants.

The Apple iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi only model will cost Rs 35,900 for 16GB variant, Rs 42,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs 49,900 for the 128GB variant. The iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models is priced at Rs. 45,900 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 52,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 59,900 for the 128GB variant.

The Apple mini 3 Wi-Fi only model will cost Rs 28,900 for 16GB variant, Rs 35,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs 42,900 for the 128GB variant. The iPad Mini 3 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models is priced at Rs. 38900 for the 16GB variant, Rs. 45,900 for the 64GB variant and Rs. 52,900 for the 128GB variant.
