Samsung Charm, a smart bracelet for Galaxy S7/S7 edge

Samsung, in addition to unveiling the new Galaxy smartphones at MWC 2016, Barcelona, also announced 'Charm', a lifestyle band to track activities. The Charm is an accessory for the Galaxy S7/S7 edge that looks like a jewellery.

The Charm can track your daily activity like steps, distance and calories. It connects to the Galaxy S7- series smartphones via Bluetooth through an app and uses a small LED to show notification for incoming calls and messages.The fitness data tracked by Samsung Charm can also sync with the S health app. It is backed by 17mAh battery, that offers 18 days life, if the LED notifications are not in use.

Samsung's charm come in two form factors - rectangular and square-shaped with three color options — Rose Quartz, Black and Gold. Pricing is not yet known.

ZOPO unveils Speed 7C with swappable wooden back covers

ZOPO, at MWC 2016, Barcelona, in addition to announcing the world's first smartphone with MediaTek's  Helio X20 Deca-core chipset, the Speed 8 also announced a new budget smartphone, the Speed 7C. The main highlight of the Speed 7C is its swapable back covers that comes in wooden finishes.

The ZOPO Speed 7C comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor w/ Mali T720 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt expandable storage, 13.2MP rear camera (w/ LED flash, 1080p video recording) and 5MP front snapper. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery.

The ZOPO Speed 7C comes in Bamboo, Ebony, Black Apricot and Phoenix Feather back cover options. ZOPO did not reveal the pricing or availability details.

FlexEnable's flexible display can be wrapped around your wrist

UK based startup FlexEnable at MWC 2016 showcased its prototype flexible display technology which can be wrapped around the wrist. To demonstrate and show the benefits, the display, brings to wearables, FlexEnable integrated the tech onto a prototype smartwatch (or bracelet).

FlexEnable's prototype 4.7-inch flexible LCD screen is 0.3mm thick and makes use of flexible plastic transistors to create organic liquid crystal display (OLCD) screens to achieve flexibility. Currently, the screens do not have touch screen function abilities, instead they can be operated by tapping on function buttons that are placed on side of the device.

As per the company, the OLCD display can achieve same resolutions as regular LCD using same amount of power, with added flexibility. FlexEnable's flexible display technology can be wrapped around anything and also has uses outside the wearable devices, as it can be incorportaed in creative smartphone designs, screen displays on automobiles, and even personalized security devices.

FlexEnable also displayed a flexible fingerprint sensors which could be wrapped around door handles to provide users with personalized security. 

“Our exceptional technology allows electronics to be put on flexible plastic film, which can get you the thickness of a sheet of paper. The combination stable, high performance organic thin-film transistors with passive elements will create truly flexible and cost-effective electronics over large and small surfaces” said FlexEnable.
 
FlexEnable also said that it has no plans to create a separate new product, instead, the company plans to team up with hardware partner to bring the technology to consumer market.

ZOPO Speed 8 with Deca-core Helio X20 SoC is now official

At the ongoing MWC 2016, in Barcelona, Chinese smartphone maker ZOPO has introduced the world's first smartphone to rock a Deca-core processor, the Speed 8. The ZOPO Speed 8 uses MediaTek's Helio X20 SoC, which was announced in May, last year.

The ZOPO Speed 8 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with Helio X20 processor with Mali T880 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In the camera department, the Speed 8 gets a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, PDAF (fast focus in just 0.2 seconds), f/2.2 aperture, Sony IMX230 sensor and 6P lenses. On the front there is 8-megapixel snapper with LED flash.The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB OTG, NFC and USB Type-C. It is fueled by 3600mAh battery, that supports fast charging. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back for unlocking the device.

The ZOPO Speed 8 is priced at $299 (Rs. 20,500) and will be available globally starting April 12. ZOPO said that it is planning to launch the Speed 8 in India by April.

Intex Aqua Fish with Sailfish OS 2.0 coming in April

At MWC China in July last year, India based smartphone maker Intex teamed up with Jolla to utilize its Sailfish OS 2.0 on its smartphone. At the same event, Intex showed a prototype of its first Sailfish OS based smartphone called Aqua Fish, and was suppose to launch in Novemeber 2015, but was delayed. Now Intex has officially introduced the Aqua Fish at MWC 2016, in Barcelona, revealing the specifications, release date and price.

The Saifish OS 2.0 now has a revamped user interface, which is fast and user friendly. It aims to deliver smooth OS flow and effective multi-tasking. It also offers improved Android apps compatibility, better browser experience, smoother transitions through the OS, and overall improved performance and system stability.

Spec-wise Intex's Aqua Fish comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal expandable storage, 8MP rear camera w/ LED flash and 2MP front snapper. For connectivity there is dual-SIM 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS support. It is backed by 2500mAh battery.

The Intex Aqua Fish comes in Black and Orange colors, and will be available sometime in April for around Rs. 7,000. Considering the price, specs and OS, the Aqua Fish will hardly make an impact in the market.

General Mobile GM5 Plus - a premium mid-range $300 Android One smartphone

Google, in May last year, expanded its Android One initiative to Turkey with the launch of General Mobile 4G smartphone. Now the brand has launched an upgraded variant of the General Mobile called GM5 Plus runnuing Google's latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The mobile device sports a metal frame and textured back cover.

The GM5 Plus sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and is equipped with 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 64-bit processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB on-board expandable storage (up to 128GB supported), 13MP rear camera (w/ Dual LED flash, 1080p video recording) and 13-megapixel front camera (w/ LED flash, 1080p video recording). Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C port. It is fuekled by 3100mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The General Mobile GM5 Plus will be priced under $300 (Rs. 20,500) and will go on sale in Turkey soon. General Mobile said that the GM5 Plus will launch in in 15 more markets after Turkey in the coming months.

Considering the price, the GM5 Plus is the costliest Android One smartphone to date. When Android One initiative was launched, the first Android One phone offered entry level specs and had a price tag of $90 (Rs. 6,000). Over the period, the specs have been improved resulting in higher pricing. It seems like Google is revamping its strategy for Android One series by tapping the mid-range market segment.

Sandisk launches USB Type-C flash drive and world's fastest microSD card

Sandisk, a major brand in portable storage segment has launched two new storage solutions- the Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card and a new Ultra USB Type-C flash drive.

The Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II is claimed to be the world's fastest microSD card as it can achieve transfer speeds of up to 275Mbps, triple the speed of UHS I line. It offers write speed of up to 100Mbps. The microSD card features Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), and is perfect for capturing 1080p videos or 4K videos on cams, drones and smartphone. It comes bundled with a USB 3.0 card reader to transfer files to PC.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II cards come in  64GB and 128GB variants. The 64GB micorSD card is priced at $179.99 (Rs. 12,300), and the 128GB microSD card costs$299.99 (Rs. 20,500). They will be available worldwide in Q2 2016.

The SanDisk Ultra USB Type-C flash drive delivers speeds of up to 150Mbps, and is the company's first USB Type-C flash drive. You can plug the flash drive into tablet, PC and smartphone. The flash drive comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage models priced at $19.99, $29.99, $49.99 and $79.99, respectively.

Haier unveils HaierPhone V6, V4, L60 and L56 mid-range smartphones

China based electronic company Haier has launched four mid-range Android smartphones namely, HaierPhone V6, V4, L60 and L56 at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. All the smartphone sports an all-metal unibody design.

The HaierPhone V6 has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved arc glass laid on top, and is equipped with 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 64-bit processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB in-built expandable storage, 13MP rear camera (w/ LED flash, PDAF) and 8MP front camera (w/ LED flash). It supports 4G LTE, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and is backed by 2900mAh battery that supports fast charging. Priced at EUR 349 (Rs. 26,000)

The HaierPhone V4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D arc glass and is powered by octa-core MediaTek 64-bit processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. It comes with 13-megapixel rear camera, fingerprint sensor and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Priced at EUR 279 (Rs. 21,000)

The HaierPhone L60 comes with 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D arc display, MediaTek MT6735 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 13-megapixel rear camera and fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Priced at EUR 246 (Rs. 19,000)

The HaierPhone L56 offers 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, a quad-core MediaTek (unknown chip) 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage and 13-megapixel rear camera. It also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Price detail not available.

Mouse Computer MADOSMA Q601 Windows 10 Mobile phone announced

Japan based Mouse Computer announced MADOSMA Q601 running Windows 10 Mobile at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. The case of the phone has a luxury 2.5D machined edge and is 7.9mm thin.

Mouse Computer MADOSMA Q601 sports a phablet grade 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, further expandble via microSD card up to 128GB.

For photography, it is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and 5-megapixel front snapper. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB-C and GPS. It is fueled by 3900mAh battery.

The MADOSMA Q601 is likely to support Continuum feature, which will allow the mobile device to be used like a PC when connected to a display, mouse and keyboard.

Panasonic announces Toughpad FZ-F1, FZ-N1 rugged smartphones

Panasonic at MWC 2016 in Barcelona has introduced two rugged smartphones- the Touchpad FZ-F1 and Touchpad FZ-N1. Both share same specs except for the operating system. The Touchpad FZ-F1 runs Windows 10 IoT Mobile Enterprise, while the Touchpad FZ-N1 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. They come with an optional stylus pens.

The Panasonic Touchpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 sports sunlight viewable display with glove touch support. For durability, they come with IP65, IP67 and MIL-STD-810G rating, ensuring that they can withstand the abuse of harsh environments. The handheld devices can also survive drops from up to 6-feet height and are submersible in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. They also include a Angled 1D/2D barcode reader  that allows the user to scan items.

The Panasonic Touchpad FZ-F1 and FZ-N1 sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) processor, with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. For photography there is 8-megapixel rear camera (w/ LED flash) and 5-megapixel front camera. For connectivit there is support for WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4, NFC and GPS. They are fueled by 3200mAh battery. Panasonic is also offering optional 6200mAh battery packs with the phones.

The Panasonic FZ-N1 (Android) will initially be available in WiFi onely model in March for $1,499 (Rs. 1,00,000). The voice-calling enabled model will be released in Summer this year. The FZ-F1 (Windows 10 IoT Enterprise) is priced at $1599 (Rs. 1,10,000) and both models (WiFi, voice calling) will be available in fall 2016. They come with a standard three year warranty.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q736 is a 13-inch Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet with palm vein scanner

Japanese electronics company Fujitsu has announced a new Windows 10 (Pro) based 2-in-1 tablet, the Stylistic Q736. It features a dual-digitizer with support for pen and finger input, and an optional keyboard docking station, so that you can dock the tablet and use it as a laptop. There's also a desktop cradle, so that you can use the tablet like a desktop PC.

The Fujitsu Stylistic Q737 sports a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS touch screen display and is powered by up to 6th Generation Intel Core i7 pro processor with Intel HD Graphics. The tablet comes with 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB SSD mSATA storage, and is equipped with 5MP rear camera & 2MP front camera. 

The tablet includes sim slot, microSD card slot, HDMI port and 2 x USB 2.0 port. For wireless connectivity there is 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The tablet on a single charge promises battery life of 9.5 hours, and when paired with the keyboard dock (includes battery as well), the battery life extends to 15 hours.

For security, the Stylistic Q736 packs Fujitsu's PalmSense technology to scan veins of your palm. The company says, that this is more faster, simpler and more accurate than other biometric security options such as fingerprint and iris scanner.

The palm sensor is the big box on the side of the tablet. You'll have to hold your hand above it  for a second and the sensor scans your hand and unlocks the device. Other enterprise-level security features include SmartCard technology, encrypted hard drives and TPM security.

Fujitsu said that the Stylistic Q736 will be available globally from March. Prices may vary depending on market.

OPPO introduces Super VOOC charging tech and SmartSensor image stabiliser

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced its new Super VOOC fast charging technology and SmartSensor image stabilization technology at MWC 2016, Barcelona.

Oppo's Super VOOC battery charging techology offers two hours of talk time with just five minutes of charge, making it four times faster than the normal charger. Oppo claims that the Super VOOC tech is better than Qualcomm's and MediaTek's quick charge sloutions as it comes with low voltage charging (5 volts), low charging temperature, making it a perfect solution for charging your device while in use.

With the new battery charging technology, a device with 2500mAh battery, can be fully charged in just 15 minutes. Oppo also mentioned that the Super VOOC charging technology doesn't damage the devices battery and ensures safe, stabilized and sustainable charging. It supports both microUSB or USB Type-C port for charging the battery.

Oppo's SmartSensor is claimed to be the first sensor-based image stabilizer in the industry, and also the smallest image stabilizer in world. The SmartSensor has been included in the camera, instead of the lens-based mechanism. 

With the new camera tech, users can capture detailed images resulting in blur-free shots and shake-less video. It takes just 15 milliseconds, to achieve 'comprehensive' image stabilization, and reduces power consumption, which avoids lens heating, to ensure consistent and clear shots even in extended photography sessions.

The SmartSensor uses a voltage-driven sensor, reducing electricity consumption to as low as 10 milli-watts, that is 50 times less power consumption, as compared to lens-based mechanism.

Oppo did not reveal which smartphone will utilize its latest technologies, however they are likely to be used in Oppo's upcoming flagship, the Find 9.

MediaTek announces MT2511 bio-sensing SoC for health and fitness devices

Health tracking is playing an important role in the evolution of wearables, and chipset makers, are now making dedicated chips for sensing medical parameters. Following the trend, MediaTek has announced the MT2511 chip, the chip makers first bio-sensing, analog front end chip (AFE) designed for health and fitness devices.

The MT2511 is capable of measuring bio-parameters such as electrocardiography (ECG) and photopletysmography (PPG), and measure heart beat intervals as well. It is equipped with 4KB SRAM, to optimize the system's overall power consumption for sleep heart rate monitoring. It supports SPI/I2C connectivity and has an integrated LED driver boost circuit for saving layout space.

The chip is also able to measure, blood pressure, pulse oximetry (SpO2 levels), electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG). As it supports a high accuracy range greater than 100dB, it eliminated interference when collecting the heart's electric signals.

The MT2511 can be paired with, MediaTek's existing IOT and wearables platforms including MT2502, MT2523 and MT2601 to establish a medically accurate, bio-parameter collection sensor chipset. . The MediaTek MT2511 is expected to be mass manufactured by the end H1 2016.

ZTE Spro Plus is a Android powered smart projector with 8.4-inch touchscreen

Chinese smartphone maker ZTE, at MWC 2016, Barcelona announced a portable smart projector called Spro Plus. Even though, ZTE calls it a projector, it actually looks like a tablet, as it has a touchscreen display.

The ZTE Spro Plus uses Laser instead of LED technology, and allows for a maximum projection of 500 lumens WXGA resolution. It is capable of projecting 80-inch picture from a distance from 2.4 meters and can also be used for video conferencing, as it has an external camera and 2 x four watt JBL speakers.

The Spro Plus projector sports a 8.4-inch TFT QHD (1440 x 2560 pixels) AMOLED display and is powred by Snapdragon 801 SoC with 3GB RAM and 32GB or 128GB internal storage, and has a microSD card slot, that accepts up to 2TB microSD cards. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, supports WiFi, LTE (optional) connectivity and packs a massive 12100mAh battery.

Lenovo expands it Yoga lineup convertibles with Yoga 510, Yoga 710

So far, Lenovo's MWC 2016 product portfolio includes Vibe K5 and K5 Plus smartphones, three Tab 3 Android tablets and a 2-in-1 Windows 10 tablet, the Ideapad MIIX 3. In addition, Lenovo announced two convertible laptop, the Yoga 510 and Yoga 710 running Windows 10. Similar to other Yoga devices, the Yoga 510 and Yoga 710 comes with 360-degree rotatable hinge, which allows them to be used in several modes including laptop, tablet, stand and tent.

The Lenovo Yoga 510 (will sell as Flex 4 in the U.S market) comes in 14-inch and 15-inch screen models bearing Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display resolution. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7 skylake processors, up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB SSD or 1TB HDD. The 15-inch model will be available with an optional Radeon R7 M460 2GB graphics. It offers up to 8.5 hours of battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga 720 comes in 11-inch and 14-inch models with Full HD IPS display resolution and can be configured with up to 8GB RAM and upto 256 SSD. The 11-inch model supports up to Intel Core m5 processor, while the 14-inch model supports up to Intel Core i7 processor, and up to NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU. It promises 8 hours of battery life.

Lenovo unveils the Ideapad MIIX 310 Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet

Lenovo at MWC 2016 in Barcelona has announced a budget Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet called the Ideapad MIIX 310. It comes with a detachable keyboard dock, so that you can use the tablet as a laptop when docked to the keyboard.

The Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 310 features a 10-inch HD display, with the option of Full HD display, and is powered by Intel Atom X5 8300 processor, aided by an integrated Intel GPU, up to 4GB RAM and comes with up to 64GB internal eMMC storage.

The 2-in-1 tablet houses a micro HDMI port, micro USB 2.0 port and microSD card slot, and supports Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity. It promises 10 hours of battery life. The detachable keyboard dock house a full size USB 2.0 port.

The Lenovo Ideapad MIIX 310 2-in-1 tablet prices start at $229 and will be available in key markets starting from June.

All-metal Haier Watch with Android Marshmallow unveiled

 

China based electronics company Haier has announced a new premium smartwatch- the Haier Watch at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. It is built with a 316L stainless steel 42mm casing, that gives it a premium look, and comes in gold, silver and black watch strap option.

 

The Haier Watch is a full metal smartwatch with a circular dial having a diameter of 1.4-inches and a resoolution of 400 x 400 pixels, on the display. It runs a forked version of Android Wear based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, in addition to proprietary software features by Haier. The smartwatch packs 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, and supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

 

It also works as a fitness companion as it includes a heart rate monitor and inbuilt pedometer to measure steps and calories burned. It is IP56 rated for dust and water resistance, and has a built-in microphone and speaker, which would allows users to make and receive calls for the smartwatch, with a connection established with the smartphone.

 

The smartwatch also doubles up as a music player, enabling music being played via speaker or Bluetooth headset. There is also a 'Find my Phone' function, which can help you find your phone, when out of sight.

 

The Haier Watch is priced at €200 (Rs. 15,000) and is due for April release.

Gionee unveils all-metallic S8 with 3D Touch display

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced it flasgship smartphone the S8 at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. The S8 flauts a slim all-metal build with chamfered edges giving it a premium look and the brand says that it has the world’s first invisible antenna design in the full loop around the edge.

The Gionee S8 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 2.5D arc glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The screen is pressure-sensitive just like the 3D Touch found of Apple iPhone 6s/6s Plus, and can sense three levels of force, to either select, preview or launch an app.

The S8 is equipped with 1.95GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor paired with Mali T860 GPU and 4GB RAM. On-board storage is 64GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

For imaging, it sports 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, RWB technology, 6P lenses, PDAF and Laser auto-focus. On the front there is 8-megapixel selfie camera. The front screen of the phone can be used as a flash to capture better low light selfies.

On the software front, the S8 runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo OS 3.2 on top, which has offers new features such as dual WhatsApp support for each SIMs, floating window to watch video while on WhatsApp or browser and more.

For connectivity there is support for 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery that supports fast charging. It also comes with fingerprint scanner, the sensor for the scanner are embedded into the home button that has response time of just 0.1 seconds and identification time of 0.38 seconds.

The Gionee S8 is priced at 449 Euros ($495 | Rs. 34,000) and will be available by March end. It comes in Rose Gold, Grey and Gold colors

Android based Acer Liquid Jade 2 offers 1TB hybrid cloud storage

At the ongoing MWC 2016 in Barcelona, Spain, Acer launched the Liquid Jade 2, the Android version of the Windows 10 Mobile based Liquid Jade Primo. The Liquid jade 2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and comes with 1TB of hybrid cloud storage, some what like the Nextbit Robin that offered 100GB cloud storage. According to Acer, cloud and internal storage is "seamlessly" integrated on the Liquid Jade 2.

The Acer Liquid Jide 2 sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display and is powered by Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor further aided by Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB. The Liquid Jide 2 has a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording capabilities, and 8-megapixel front camera that can capture 1080p videos.  

For connectivity there is support for 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. It comes with DTS Headphone:X technology for surround sound experience with any pair of headphones, according to Acer.There is no information on the battery capacity as of now.

Acer hasn’t announced the pricing and availability, but said that the “exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region.”

Sony unveils Xperia Ear headset, in-car Bluetooth commander and new concept accessories

Besides introducing that new Xperia X range smartphone, Sony also announced the Xperia Ear Bluetooth headset, RM-X7BT in-car Bluetooth commander, and three concept devices - Xperia Eye, Xperia Projector and Xperia Agent.

Sony Xperia Ear
The Xperia Ear is a smart-Bluetooth enabled earbud, powered by Sony's voice technology. It works like a virtual assistant and responds to voice commands. You can ask it to make a call, search the web, send message and navigate to a certain location. It also keeps you up-to-date on the go, by offering information such as schedule, weather and latest news. The accessory connects to the Android smartphone via NFC or Bluetooth. It is IPX2 rated for water protection and promises a full day battery life.

Sony RM-X7BT
The RM-X7BT is an in-car Bluetooth commander that enables wireless music playback, and also uses Sony's voice technology to activate certain smartphone function while driving. It consists of two units - an adapter module that enables wireless audio streaming and hands-free calls, and a commacder that facilitates smartphone functions such as navigation while driving.

Sony Xperia Eye
The Xperia Eye is a 360-degree wearable wide-angle lens camera that can be easily attached to clothing or worn around the neck. With a 360-degree spherical lens, it offers a natural field of view. It is equipped with an intelligent shutter technology that uses facial and voice detection to capture photos.

Sony Xperia Projector
The Xperia Projector can project an interface onto any smooth surface, and responds to touch, voice controls and gestures, just as you would interact with the screen of your smartphone.

Sony Xperia Agent 
The Xperia Agent is a voice and gesture controlled accessory, which Sony describes as "vision for personalized assistant". It comes equipped with a built-in camera and projector with the abiliy to identify people and greet them with voice and the device can also control IoT devices. It is also powered by Sony's voice technology and responds to a number of verbal commands.

The Sony Xperia Ear Bluetooth headset and RM-X7BT in-car accessory will go on sale in summer. Sony did not mention when the concept accessories would make it to production.
